{"id":2608,"date":"2022-06-28T14:30:38","date_gmt":"2022-06-28T12:30:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/melaniesix.com\/?post_type=realisaties&#038;p=2608"},"modified":"2022-07-18T16:45:55","modified_gmt":"2022-07-18T14:45:55","slug":"the-dry-river-side-table","status":"publish","type":"realisaties","link":"https:\/\/melaniesix.com\/en\/realisation\/the-dry-river-side-table\/","title":{"rendered":"The Dry River side table"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This side table was made at the request of the customer.<\/p>\n<p>The customer wanted a type of wood with a beautiful, lively drawing, in the size she wanted.<\/p>\n<p>Together we went to the wood supplier and chose these slabs of olive wood.<\/p>\n<p>The base was made in solid walnut. A design was first drawn by me in 3D and presented to the customer until we were both satisfied.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I wanted to give a Japanese, airy feeling to the legs. The proportions, thickness and width of the parts had to be right.<\/p>\n<p>The slabs of olive wood were stripped of their bark, finished all around, the many cracks and knots in the wood were filled, and everything was sanded flat.<\/p>\n<p>The base was assembled by means of invisible connections and connected to the tops in a traditional way, by means of wooden &#8220;buttons&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Everything made by hand in our own studio, to your own design.<\/p>\n<p>A long- term work, but with love and care a beautiful heirloom that can last for
