Shortening an antique pharmacy cabinet + new base dining table

For this client, I had to make sure that her father’s beautifully preserved pharmacy cabinet was shortened.

So it was going to fit in her new apartment, which was unfortunately just too high depending on the ceiling height.

I decided to shorten it where I thought this was going to be least visible, without violating the proportions of the cabinet too much.

The only way to do this in a nice way, was manually, with the japanese saw!

For the same customer, we also looked for a better way to sit at her table with 6 people.

She also wanted to give a more modern look to this solid oak dining table.

Instead of 4 protruding legs, a central base was chosen. Custom designed, welded and lacquered in a RAL colour of her choice.

Quite a difference… Thanks Martine!
