Els, who had already booked a table with me, wanted to treat herself to a little present after a difficult period.
She really liked my final-year project at Waters & Acland, called ‘The Brick’, and wanted an identical version, but in more vibrant colours.
It turned out to be a refined version in Emente’s rouge chinois, a beautiful colour.
The high-gloss ‘box’ was painted by Hilde from X&triek, who has more experience with this than I do and managed to pull off this tricky little job with great skill!
The legs are made of solid oak, sanded and painted.
Thank you so much, Els, for this lovely and fun project, aptly named – how could it be otherwise – ‘The Red Brick’.
